Q: What is your favorite part about being a stylist (or salon owner)?

A: My favorite part of being a stylist is simple—it's making people happy. There’s something incredibly rewarding about working toward a transformation and seeing someone light up when they see the final result. I always want every person who sits in my chair to feel good when they get up—that’s what drives me. As a salon owner, my favorite part is watching my team grow. Seeing stylists evolve from the early stages of their careers into confident, thriving professionals is such a proud and fulfilling experience. Being part of that journey and supporting their growth means everything to me.

Q: How long have you been involved in the beauty industry, and how did your career journey begin?

A: I started my career in the beauty industry at 19 years old—back in 1993—and I’ve been doing this ever since. It’s hard to believe it’s been 34 years, but the passion I had when I first started is still very much alive today. Right after high school, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. The stylist who cut my hair at the time suggested I try beauty school, and I decided to give it a shot. Looking back, it all makes sense—two of my family members were already in the industry, and my grandmother was a seamstress, so creativity and working with your hands really ran in the family. It just kind of fell into place.

Q: If you had to describe your salon in three words, what would they be and why?

A: Top-notch, light, and innovative. Top-notch because we have an incredibly talented team of stylists—each with years of experience and a strong skill set—so we’re able to offer a consistently high level of service to every guest who walks through our doors. Light not only describes the physical space—it’s bright, airy, and welcoming—but also the energy and attitude of the team. There’s a positive, uplifting vibe that people really feel when they’re here. And innovative because thanks to our partnership with Milbon, we’re able to offer services, treatments, and product experiences that are truly next-level—things you won’t find just anywhere.

Q: What is one Milbon product you can't live without, and why?

A: I chose to carry Milbon because no one else in our area was offering it, and I really wanted Fringe to be ahead of the curve. Going back to the word innovative—that’s a big part of who we are. I’m always looking for ways to offer something new and elevated that sets us apart, and Milbon was the perfect fit. The products do exactly what they say they’re going to do, which gives both our stylists and our clients a lot of confidence. On top of that, the support I receive—from the education team to the office staff—has been incredible. It feels like a true partnership, and that makes a big difference.

Q: Why did your salon decide to carry Milbon products?

A: No one else in our area was really offering Milbon, and I’ve always wanted Fringe to stay ahead of the curve. Going back to how I describe the salon—we’re innovative. I love being able to bring in something new, something no one else is doing, and Milbon was the perfect fit for that. The products truly deliver on what they promise, which is huge for both our team and our clients. On top of that, the support I get from everyone at Milbon—from the education team to the office—is amazing. It feels like we’re part of something bigger, and that kind of partnership makes a real difference.

Q: What do you love about Milbon?

A: First off, I love the packaging—it’s incredible and really fits the aesthetic of Fringe perfectly. It just feels like it belongs here. Beyond that, what I truly appreciate is the confidence I have knowing that when I send a client home with a Milbon product, they’re going to love it. The results consistently deliver, and I always stand behind everything we recommend. In all my years, I’ve never had a client say they didn’t love a Milbon product, and that trust means everything to me.

Q: Why did you decide to become a Milbon Concept Salon?

A: Before becoming a concept salon, we were already using Milbon products, and I was working closely with Lana, who really encouraged me to try their color line. She believed it would be a great fit for us, and once I used it, I immediately loved the results. After consistently using the color products and experiencing the incredible support from the Milbon team—as well as seeing the positive impact on our business—it became a no-brainer to take that next step and become a concept salon. It’s been an amazing partnership ever since.

Q: Which Milbon products are the stylists’ favorites in your salon?

A: There are so many favorites—it’s hard to pick just a few! One that definitely stands out is Blonde Plus collection, since we do a lot of blondes here. Our stylists love having a product that clients can use every day to maintain their color and keep their hair healthy. Another top favorite, especially being in the South, is the Anti-Frizz collection. Summers here get really humid, so having a reliable way to keep hair smooth and manageable is a must. Those two are definitely among the best-loved products in the salon.

Q: Which Milbon products are the guests’ favorites at your salon?

A: When it comes to what flies off the shelf and what clients ask for most, Thickening Mist is definitely at the top of the list. Our guests love how it adds volume without weighing hair down. The Dry Texturizing Spray is another favorite—it’s great for effortless, natural-looking texture. And especially during the summer months, the Anti-Frizz products are in high demand to help combat the humidity and keep hair smooth and polished. These products consistently resonate with our guests and fly off the shelves!
